We should be thankful that the swine flu did not spread very rapidly. it is not very deadly like Ebola but swine flu can still kill you.

the use of face masks and boosting your immune system by taking lots of vitamin-C is still an effective way of preventing the spread of the Swine Flu virus.

the spread of AH1N1 or Swine Flu is really scary. It is a good thing that this virus is not very deadly. We are advised to take Vitamin-C and to wear face masks.

Sam, thanks for the comment. Yeah, the flu was spun a lot. I actually contracted a nasty flu unrelated to H1N1 right around the time of its media spike, and no one wanted to get close to me. There were many people that were made to think (and still do) that the flu would eventually take over the world. Figures...

Thanks for the comment, furious.

Details do get lost these days, and your right -- no one really wants to read anything past the headline anymore and because of that, all the facts and explanation are left out of the media's writings. I guess you could call me an old-fashion media fan, although I probably never lived to see a true report of that caliber.

One of the pitfalls of our on-demand lifestyles is that no one really wants to go beyond the headline, or 140 words. We take in as much as we can as fast as we can and a lot of details get lost. The stories get blown out of proportion and fade faster than they came, but by that time there's a new snippet of news rocketing to the forefront.

It's great to be able to have access to so much current, unfiltered info, but at the same time it gets harder to separate rumor and speculation from fact.
